Happy post-Thanksgiving! There was no time to blog last week, but I was thinking about it. Does that count for anything? No? Oh, well.
Today I’m wrapping up my Christmas decorating and feeling so thankful–thankful for the anticipation of slowing down and actually enjoying the festive decorations and lights; thankful for the Christmas gatherings that are going to happen this year beginning this Saturday night; and thankful for my family’s continued good health!
On my last blog, I noted how my sweet hubby keeps trying to make me give up my 2013 Mercedes ML350 for something newer. Well…, he finally succeeded! A couple of Saturdays ago following a leadership seminar at church, he asked if there was a car that I might like to test drive. I took a chance and asked to drive the Kia Telluride. He scoffed that I’d never go from a Mercedes to a Kia. He was wrong.
We ordered a gorgeous, all-wheel drive, Telluride WITH heated and cooled front and back seats (captain’s chairs) in the latest color, Lakeside Midnight Blue with light gray and navy interior. Our salesman told us it would be about a three-month wait, but our car arrived at the dealership this morning! I’m going with hubby after to work to complete the sale. (I wish I could put the Frozen gif here of Elsa clapping her wrists with a cheesy grin on her face!)
I’m thrilled!
Back to Thanksgiving: I was so blessed to have my immediate family, minus one and his fiancé, my mom, and my sister’s entire (and rapidly growing) family with us this year. We ordered two turkeys from our favorite local mom-and-pop joint, Trace Grill, just to make sure we’d have enough.
I didn’t get many pictures of the day because I was hosting.
The day before Thanksgiving, I was blessed to take pictures of the latest edition, my niece’s new baby boy. I took some cute ones of my other niece’s precious, drooley, six-month-old son, too. Then I took my sister’s Christmas card pictures for her so she could get her project over with quickly.
My Christmas cards will be delayed this year. Just FYI. They may be New Year’s cards.
I’m thankful for each and every one of you that read my blog. I hope it’s an encouragement to you and helps us keep connected. May your Christmas season be restful and blessed!
