We’ve had beautiful weather here in central Mississippi this week.  My daughter was rejoicing last week that classes at her community college had been dismissed so that students could enjoy homecoming festivities at the main campus 40 minutes away.

Here’s a glimpse of the ‘hood while on a walk with the dog this week. My favorite time of the year!

At dinner one night early this week, hubby asked her, “Are any of your teachers offering extra credit for attending homecoming?”  Well, yes, actually.  Her A&P teacher and her sociology teacher were both offering extra credit just for getting a few selfies here and there and stopping by a tailgating tent.

So I put a Goodman, MS, trip on my calendar and off we went.  It’s a beautiful campus, and it was worth the visit, especially on that day.  The temps were in the low 70s, and the sky was so blue!

My daughter is something of a foodie, so she made an extra effort to ensure we’d be there to experience the food trucks. We enjoyed loaded BBQ nachos, a loaded Polish dawg, and fruited lemonade. We exercised great restraint when we saw a funnel cake. We really did.

I hope your weather has been just as wonderful and that you’re able to get out and enjoy the year’s extra credit!
