A few weeks ago, I got into the spirit of a new season and showed you a few pictures of “fall on the inside.”  Well, in typical Southern fashion, the temps turned upward, and summer returned.

On Wednesday of this week, we had a good little rainstorm, and the temps turned again to fall!  Izzy (my mutt) and I decided to check out the neighborhood this morning and take pictures of fall on the outside.

Gone are the oversized pink flamingoes of summer–this artist’s home always has striking colors at the front door!
Are pumpkin topiaries all the rage in your neck of the woods, too?
This family hasn’t pulled out all their pumpkin decor yet, but aren’t their annuals amazing?
And back on our front porch, my walking companion, Izzy, looks at me like I’m nuts for having my camera out. This was moments before she shot off like a bullet to investigate a rustle on the east side of the house.

We are blessed to live in such a pretty neighborhood!  Here at the end of our first week of October, I would’ve expected to see a few more houses decorated for the season, but I guess that will happen this weekend with the cooler temperatures. I hope you’ll have an opportunity to get outside and enjoy the beauty of fall!
