It’s New Year’s Eve, and I can’t believe it’s already time to put away the Christmas decorations, clean the house, get my boys ready to leave for another semester of college, and start my daughter on her final semester in high school.
It’s a weekend for reflection, I think, and time to be grateful for this past year. It’s been a trying one for so many people who’ve lost loved ones, jobs, and possessions. Some, it seems, have even lost hope.
I’ve faced some difficult days this year for various reasons, but I hope that I’ve come out stronger because I know that I’ve become more dependent on God.
In 2021, I hope that I’ve made someone’s life easier, made someone smile or even laugh, been a blessing to someone financially or emotionally, or made a difference in someone’s life somewhere along the way. I’ve been so blessed, and I know I’ve always got room for improvement!
In 2022, I’m going to strive to be a better wife, mom, friend, daughter, sister, and volunteer, and be a better follower of Jesus. I hope you feel the same way; we can have a greater impact on this confused and hurting world if we all strive to be a better participant in this life.
Following Jesus makes all the difference. Even after all the Christmas decorations are packed and stacked away, may you feel His peace throughout this new year!
