It’s been a fun, but extremely busy October-November, pre-holiday season so far!  Is it extra busy for you, too?  Maybe the joy of waving goodbye to the shutdowns of last year have added additional anticipation of this year’s holidays?  That’s all I can figure!

It seems like we’ve had at least one big event each week between high school senior activities, community gatherings and fundraisers, and special holiday shopping events.  My good hubby doesn’t even flinch when I tell him my plans for perusing the goodies at JLJ’s Mistletoe Marketplace (he only requests some of Helmut’s apricot strudel) or dragging him to Handworks, another holiday shopping extravaganza.

I fell in love with Putz houses and all the decor at this year’s Mistletoe Marketplace. The theme was “Oh, What Fun!”

Hubby virtually jumped on the wagon to attend First Pres Day School’s Holiday Potpourri last weekend by calling the organizer (a friend) to get our tickets, and then he stood around admiring the silent auction items with patience as I logged in to the mobile app to place lots of bids.  Such a good guy!

Just one of the cutest trees I’ve ever seen. It was in the family room at the home that hosted FPDS Holiday Potpourri this year.

I looked at the calendar a few days ago, and it hit me hard: Thanksgiving. Is. Next. Week.

What?  Where did the time go?  It’s been 77 degrees the past few days!

The morning sky this week–no filter added!

I don’t know about you, but I am looking forward to Thanksgiving Day.  I anticipate spending some time in the kitchen making Aunt Lori’s Corn Casserole and my middle child’s favorite chocolate cake.  The rest of the meal will be coming from the Trace Grill and my dear sister, who spoils us with pumpkin rolls and homemade bread.  After the meal, I plan on sitting around doing nothing but perusing the newspaper ads and planning my Black Friday shopping.  I also plan on visiting with my family, calling my in-laws, and reflecting on how good the Lord has been to us this year.

May you also take a moment or two to think about His many blessings!
