Shortly after getting home from The Breakers, we took off for Denver, Colorado.
The conference was at the Gaylord Rockies in Aurora, just a few minutes from Denver International Airport.
On our first evening, we found very tasty Indian food at nearby Coriander. Then we came back to the Gaylord and explored the grounds, noting that, around every bend, rabbits scattered like roaches in Texas.

Hubby had heard that there were s’mores outside, so we found a likely spot and waited…to no avail.

The sunset was spectacular though!

The next day was Sunday. The conference started early and lasted all day, so I made up my mind to go to church. I was blessed to attend Landmark Tabernacle, where I met some folks who knew the pastor of my youth.

I spent the rest of the day shopping in Denver’s upscale Park Meadows Mall.
The next two days promised to be beautiful, so I made my way to Denver’s Botanical Gardens. The gardens are done in sections like outdoor rooms. I found many photo ops that I hope to paint soon!

We had dinner at CAVA and then found a Dairy Queen. We’d been lulled in by an ad for an 85-cent Blizzard. We had missed the fine print: “with purchase of at least $1 (nothing there is less than $3.50)” and the coupon is on the DQ app (no time to download it in the drive thru!).

The sunset was once again breathtaking! I do believe the skies are bigger in Colorado!

I toured the Denver Zoo the next day. They had life-size Lego creations of some of their animals, but I enjoyed the flamingo walk the most.

Zookeepers announced the little parade of flamingos going to their enrichment event at a pink sprinkler. There, the flamingos danced and pranced through the sprinkler.
Occasionally, the zoomies would come over them, and they’d act like children.
Hubby enjoyed learning tons of new things at his conference. However, he was super glad to be done! The long days of lectures had taxed his ability to sit for so long, especially with my reports of how lovely the weather had been each day.
We gathered our things the next morning and headed for Moab, Utah, and a couple of National Parks!
